What is Hyundai Brake Assist

John Amato Hyundai Superstore carries a vast inventory of Hyundai vehicles, in which all come with Hyundai Brake Assist technology.  This technology is an anti-lock braking system, which shortens braking system, which shortens braking distance and secures control of the vehicle while driving on slippery roads.  Hyundai continually advances their driver and passenger protections systems and is known for their cutting edge safety technology.

Brake assist systems work along side the anti-lock brake systems (ABS) on the vehicle to avoid wheel lock-up while making braking as effective as possible.  When the system is activated by a driver pressing the brake pedal hard and quick the brake assist system kicks in to help

What is Brake Assist and How Does It Work?

Hyundai Brake Assist is an active vehicle safety system designed to assist drivers in stopping their vehicle more quickly, when an emergency situation arises.  Studies have proven that in emergency stopping situations, almost half of all drivers fail to apply the brakes quickly enough or hard enough to use all of the braking  power their vehicle offers.  A brake assist system recognizes the signs of an emergency braking situation and add its support to the driver and the braking system.

How does  Hyundai Brake Assist Work?

Many consumers have seen Hyundai Brake Assist advertised but do not know how it works.  The answer is simple- the brake- assist system by Hyundai is designed to secure control of the vehicle and shorten braking distance in emergency stopping situations,  It does this by optimizing the distribution of the power to the brakes between the rear and front wheels, as their weight relates to rapid changes in the vehicle weight.  The brake override system makes the engine return to idle, and gives the braking system priority in the event of the driver, in a panic, stepping on both the brake and accelerator pedals at the same time.  The brake assist system increases the power to the brakes and shorten stopping distance in the event of emergency.  The traction control system stops the wheels from slipping, as well as maximizing the power of the vehicle to climb or accelerate.  All of these systems together assure a Hyundai driver of the ability to stop better and faster, and possibly negate the effects of an accident.

When is Brake Assist Important?

You might think that you have quick reflexes or have the ability to handle all of the situations on the road but people appreciate extra when they need it.  When brake assist is there for you in the event of an emergency stopping  situation , to assist you and your vehicle to stop quickly and safely.

Here are some added benefits of using Genuine Hyundai Parts

  • Greater assurance of quality :  The OEM part should work exactly as the one you are replacing.  It is what the vehicle was manufactured with and provides peace of mind in its familiarity and performance
  • Comes With Warranty :  Hyundai backs up their parts with a one year warranty. And if  you get the vehicle repaired at a Hyundai dealer they usually stand by the labor as well

As a general rule of thumb, if you have a vehicle under 6 years old, an OEM part is a good choice.  After 6 years OEM or aftermarket parts are an option for you.   If you have a old higher mileage vehicle , be realistic.  There is not much value in the vehicle and keeping it on the road as least costly is the goal

Save money at the pump

Even with oil and gas prices dropping at the pumps, we as the concrete navigators of Milwaukee are always looking to save money.  With gas being a hefty monthly expense for many commuters in a city like Milwaukee, there a few techniques to get more mile for your money.

Slow Down

This is an obvious tip, but it does go a long way when trying to get better gas mileage.  The logic is : The more RPM’s  your engine uses, the more gas it uses to power it.  In a city with constant stop and go traffic, the RPM’s needed to accelerate from 0 to even 30 mph is a lot, especially  if you drive an SUV.  Keeping your RPM’s low or constant will save you gas mileage and money in the long run

Use your vehicle’s Cruise Control

Continuing  from the tip above, your vehicle’s cruise control setting is designed to keep your speed and  your RPM at a constant level. Using this setting, especially on a long road trip will get you better gas mileage.  Instead of fluctuating your cars’s speed and RPM, the cruise control setting will keep your speed and RPM at a constant level ensuring your vehicles uses fuel at a constant pace, rather than a sporadic one.

Maintenance is Key

Your vehicle needs proper maintenance just like you need the right amount of sleep and food to function.  Neglecting your vehicle’s need like routine oil changes, tire rotation, or cleaning the air filter all contribute to how hard your vehicle’s engine has to work.  Besides vehicle maintenance is easy.  In the end a well maintained vehicle will ensure  you’re getting the maximum amount of mileage from your vehicle.

Tire Care Info – Align or Balance ?

Before you drive your Hyundai off around the Milwaukee area, make sure your tires are properly aligned and balanced to ensure the smoothest and safest ride possible

Tire Maintenance – Align or Balance?

Wheel balancing and wheel alignment are often confused and overlooked despite their importance in contributing towards the life span of your tires as well as your overall road safety.  As a result of any kind of driving, off-road, gravel or even tar. parts of your Hyundai may become worn.  Make sure you avoid any bad driving or car maintenance habits that could be detrimental to the smooth running  of your Hyundai be keeping in mind a few important maintenance tips

Wheel Alignment

To explain it better, a wheel alignment is the process of modifying the angles of your wheels to ensure that they are perpendicular to the ground and parallel to each other.  Proper wheel alignments maximizes tire life and guarantees a vehicle that tracks straight and handles properly.

Here are a few signs that your  vehicle needs to be realigned:

  • Your vehicle seems to drift off to one side, even when  you think you are driving straight
  • Your steering wheel vibrates at certain speeds
  • Your tire wear rapidly and unevenly
  • Your steering wheel remains off center, despite driving in a straight line

Wheel Balancing

Wheel balancing lets tires rotate evenly without generating any vibrations, which can be uncomfortable to the driver and result in premature wearing of the tires.  This is achieved by checking for any heavy spots/tread on the wheels and tires, and compensating for it by placing a measured lead weight on the opposite side of the wheel from where the heavy spot is located.

Here are a few signs that your vehicle tires need to be balanced:

  • Your steering wheel vibrates at certain speeds
  • Your seat or floorboard vibrates at certain speeds
  • There are visible scalloped or cupped wear patterns on your tires

Don’t let a few bumps in the road throw your tires into a spin.  Show your Hyundai how much you care by keeping it in tiptop shape.  Checking your wheels and tires is a must to ensure the safety of you and those you share the road with

How Hybrid Cars Help You Save Money

Many new vehicle buyers usually don’t give hybrids a second thought.  Customers are after bigger vehicles which are often more costly purchase and maintain.  For customers who are looking to save money right now and in the lifetime ownership of their vehicles, should not count hybrid vehicles out of the equation just yet and below are a few examples why.

Lesser Initial Cost

One advantage of going hybrid is that most don’t require extra down payments.  This assists new vehicle buyers wont have to spend too much extra during the initial purchase process.  Additionally, many hybrid manufactures like Hyundai pay attention to the market and it’s consumers.  Hybrid manufacturers tend to offer longer coverage for specific vehicle components like the batteries of the electric motor.  Carmakers usually cover the cost to replace them or extend the warranty length.

Better Gas Mileage

Consumers today are gas price conscious.  A slight dip in prices tend to lead customers to believe that bigger vehicles are better choices.  However the oil industry is fickle and prone to fluctuate and change.  Since hybrid cars have two sources of energy, they are the smarter choice for purchase.  The alternative fuel source used by hybrids does not require them to be filled up with gasoline every time.  You can switch off the conventional engine and turn on the substitute electric propulsion.  This significantly cuts down on costs and consumption.

Added Green Benefits

More an more people are becoming environmentally conscious.  As a result, many vehicle manufacturers come up with new ways to make their vehicles more eco-friendly.  Looking at the big picture, this development not only helps the environment but saves money as well.  Hybrids are becoming less fuel demanding and less expensive to keep.  They also produce far fewer emissions, thus no longer adding to the harmful carbon monoxide into the environment.

If you are looking for a cost-effective vehicle, hybrids are the best choices, especially if you are living in the big city.  You can find them at dealerships in Milwaukee like John Amato Hyundai Superstore.
