Although there have been rumors about the possibility of 2018 Audi A6 hybrid type, there hasn’t been any official confirmation or precise update about the availability – or even the possibility if Audi is going to make one because the company hasn’t confirmed anything. However, if we take a look back at some of the news about the vehicle and how Audi is preparing their lines, it is highly possible that they are going to make the hybrid products, after all. But until now, they haven’t said anything about it.

The Rumored Updates

There is something interesting about the upcoming 2018 Audi A6 hybrid. If the other car manufacturers are still using the 12V engine for their hybrid vehicles, it won’t be happening to Audi. It seems that Audi thinks that it is time to move on to a new power arrangement so there would be a better boost of power. After all, after decades of using the same 12V unit, they think that it is time to try something different – something bigger, definitely.

For the new 2018 Audi A6 hybrid, Audi has prepared and dedicated a 48V mild electric system, which should be introduced later on by the end of this year of 2017. After talking to the head of hybrid system, it is likely that the company will be using this bigger volt unit for their A8 line, for a start. And after the viewing success, they are ready to install the new unit to both the A6 and also A7.

The Design Concept

It seems promising that the new line will be coming with new style as well as new power. With the idea of using the Prologue concept ideas for the next A6 production, Audi expects to achieve a higher platform of success. However, what we have seen from the Prologue is just a concept, really. What’s real would be revealed when it is time.

We know that the new line of A6 will be likely based on the Prologue but does it mean that the same design will also implement on the hybrid line? It hasn’t been confirmed just yet but it doesn’t hurt to cross your fingers for good luck.

If Audi is going to release the hybrid system, the electric lithium ion battery should be able to conserve energy while maximizing its usage to the highest point. Aside from the improved power and speed, fuel economy system should be expected too in 2018 Audi A6 hybrid.
