The 2018 BMW X3 press release gives us an important notification that it has unique and different styling design especially when we compare with the outgoing model. But, BMW prefers to call the X models as Sports Activity Vehicles. You can see the meaning of it from the exterior of the 2018 X3. This compact car boasts athletic designs over its body. Of course, the car is more engaging and attractive than the previous model. However, some cues and designs remain the same. The press release also says that the wheelbase of BMW X3 is expanded. It is about 2.2 inches longer than the predecessor. This is perfect to provide better stance for the car.

BMW also claims that the roof is lowered so that the athleticism can be shown throughout its exterior. The sportier line is stretched from the front axe to the A-pillar. This is also important to improve the aerodynamics cues of the car as well as its overall performance. The 2018 BMW X3 press release also showed that the M Sport package is offered alongside the X3 for the first time. Some features are also available in this package such as larger air intakes, diffuser-style rear apron and many more.

On the front, we caught a new grille design. This one is larger with its three-dimensional appearance. The headlights are also new. The rear taillights increase our aggressive impression of the compact. This facelift also increase the production of X3 throughout 2016. This was claimed by the manufacturer at the 2018 BMW X3 press release, too.

M Performance Package

For the first time, the X3 M40i is coming in the X3 trims. Of course, it changes everything under the hood of the X3. The TwinPower turbocharged engine with 3.0 l inline six displacement offers 355 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque at the same time. It results 4.6 seconds to hit 0-60 mph with an eight-speed Steptronic Sport gearbox. In addition, the M package also adds xDrive all-wheel-drive system to the lineup. The rear compartment of 2018 X3 has more power than before.

Inside, the interior is all-new X3. You can see many badges inside. But, we love the dashboard because it is completely elegant. The 12-inch infotainment screen is mounted on the center stack. Basically, Mazda offers the more detailed interior for us now.

At last, the 2018 BMW X3 press release was really important for all X3 car enthusiasts. The exterior is reduced about 120 pounds. Thanks to the aluminum, plastic, and carbon-fiber materials by the way. The wheels are bigger. X3 owns 19-inch wheels as standard, and it keeps the weight as heavy as the previous model. Overall, we appreciate the bravery of Mazda to bring the M Performance version. We can’t wait the car is hitting the market.
