There are several 2018 Shelby GT500 rumors about the vehicle. The rumors had actually started in 2013 when the sixth gen of Mustang line was brought to public with a new style, platform, and design. It made a huge fuss because of the independent rear side suspension, which was first introduced back then.

The Possible Update

No one knows when the upcoming GT500 will be launched but according to 2018 Shelby GT500 rumors, the vehicle should be introduced to the public by late 2017 – followed by production and dealership availability. If the rumor is true, it means that the GT500 Shelby finally makes a comeback after being inactive for four years. And if it is all true, the new Shelby GT500 will be competing against Dodge SRT Challenger Hellcat and Camaro ZL1 Chevy.

According to 2018 Shelby GT500 rumors, the new ride will be coming with V8 engine with 5.0 liter capacity – which is actually designed as the 2019 model. The company hasn’t decided whether they are going to launch it as the 2018 model or the 2019 one. If the engine arrangement is true, the new Shelby will be able to reach 60 mph within 3.5 seconds and top speed of 186 mph – the numbers are pretty impressive, aren’t they? Because it is designed as the luxurious midsize sport muscle car with a coupe design, expect an estimated price of $70,000.

The Overall Design

According to some sources, the new GT500 will be borrowing some cues from the body panels of GT350, but then again, the new GT500 will be an independent form and construction on its own. You need to remember that the company is focusing on the aerodynamic. For instance, there is a reason why the company has a bigger wing with fixed construction on the top side of the trunk lid. It is possible that it will be paired with the new designed bumper with bigger splitter. New colors will be included for the exterior hue, along with the different combinations for the body stripe.

For the interior cabin, you can still expect the signature style of a Mustang but, of course, you can expect additional unique features. Up until now, there hasn’t been any official confirmation about the style and the look but you should get the idea since the basic idea is based on the GT350. You can still recognize the door panels, center console, and dashboard but expect some of the unique features – such as the bespoke gauge for the instrument cluster and the improved infotainment screen.
