There have been several 2019 Acura RDX changes that have been talked about, especially by auto enthusiasts and experts. Although it seems that Acura is preparing for their global RDX debut (and the public response is quite positive enough for the anticipated coming), the stakes for the production is basically higher. So, what should you know about the new RDX and the upcoming production?

About the Redesigned Plan

There are good reasons about 2019 Acura RDX changes, focusing on Acura having to compete against other variants like Jaguar, Infiniti, and Volvo – not to mention that there are still many other CUVs. If Acura wants to stay on the top position of the luxury compact crossover category, they need to stay updated – and having the redesign is definitely one of the many alternative options. When the RDX first released, it was coming with a sportier sense while the second generation is more mainstream and common. What will this third generation design?

The Turbo Engine

Within the first generation of RDX, it was called the EVO crossover because it was using the turbo four unit with 2.3 liter capacity delivering 240 hp of power and paired with auto five speed transmission. When the second generation was released, it was using the V6 unit with 3.5 liter capacity, delivering 279 hp of power. For the 2019 model, it is going to use the turbo unit again. It is inspired by the Accord 2018 2.0T with the turbo four 2.0 liter capacity with possibility of auto twin clutch eight speed transmission. Hopefully, the return of the turbo unit will be included within the 2019 Acura RDX changes plan, and possibility of the hybrid version too.

Features and Technologies

For the 2019 model, improved features and technologies can be expected, covering changes for steering, engine sound, HVAC, throttle sensitivity, and also transmission. When you choose the Sport+ driving mode, the way it moves, drives, and sounds will be different from the Normal mode, for instance.

For the interior cabin, expect the same feature and strength from the 2018. In 2018 model, the RDX is considered the best in its line and it seems that it won’t be different at all. It still incorporates the foldable seat arrangement with the absence of reclining seat on the rear. If you want to choose different colors for the cabin, choose from beige, gray, and black. Because of the 2019 Acura RDX changes, the price may be upward, starting from $35,000 to $45,000 with availability starting from around 2018.
